They want you to buy it. The trick they use is that they (Microsoft) hope you have created a bunch of documents, and are afraid to delete Workplace 2007.
Just download OpenOffice at www.openoffice.org. It is cost-free, and will study all the Workplace 2007 files.
These 60 day trials are just a marketing ploy. They are practically “negative selection advertising”. I delete them proper away and load what I want, like openoffice.

Get rid of MS Office 2007 trial! Uninstall every bit of it – all the code will slow down the Computer even if you are not utilizing it.
Then get on the net and download openoffice. It is a totally free, open supply office suite that does everything you want it to do.
Acquire and download Microsoft Office from $ 59!

Sorry, Uncle Bill does not give away freebies anymore. He wants to stay on top of the world’s richest for another 16 years.
OpenOffice is a good free program, but if you have a slower computer, expect it to be slower once you download it. You might want to boost your RAM first.
Also, if you buy a copy of Office 2007, NO, no one else can use it. Every copy is registered with a number, and if the number is used twice you will be cut off from any updates or patches.
Like someone else said here, if you are a student check out your school bookstore. My daughter bought her copy for $ 11 from her college bookstore.
Another thought is try to download another trial copy from Microsoft. They offered me a 3 computer download for $ 99 when the trial expired.
The answer is No on all your questions, Microsoft does not give enything away for free.
You should rather try SSuite Office for a free office suite. They have a whole range of office suites that are free for download.
Their software also don’t need to run on Java or .NET, like so many open source office suites, so it makes their software very small and efficient.

If anyone in you family goes to college ask the if they have an msdn (normally studying a computing course) account or if they can get one. They can then get microsoft office for free + things like Vista and XP but they only get one copy of each.
