Discounted Microsoft Windows XP Workplace: I know, to anyone who even knows a little about operating systems, this query could be hilariously stupid. But I’m about to purchase a laptop that has Windows XP House as the OS through operate I can get a discounted version of Microsoft Workplace and was hoping the two are compatible. Blush.

Yes, any version of Workplace will function on XP, I tried even the older version Workplace 97 and it worked effectively.

yes they are compatible, office and windows are both made by microsoft therefor are made to be compatible.
BUT, you should really consider buying a windows vista laptop, people complain about it but the best laptops available today were all designed for vista. On top of that the service packs that windows releases have fixed most problems with vista, I for one have never had a single problem and i bought my laptop in august. Windows XP is going more and more out of date every day, and vista is the latest PC technology.
