Here is a brief summary of my qualifications:
- BA in Math from the University of Minnesota in 1967, and engaged in
various forms of software development ever since.
- Primarily 'C' development for a variety of Unix flavors
(Linux, LynxOS, and MaxOS, and others)
since the mid 1990's; primarily assembly language development
for a variety of real-time computers and OS's
from the late 1960's through the mid 1990's.
- Major application areas:
- The "computer systems" areas of Flight Simulation software, such as
real-time executives and IOS software.
- Software development utilities, such as preprocessors,
ad hoc assemblers and linkers, symbol table utilities,
debuggers, configuration scripts, etc.
- Graphics applications, including X-Windows, and most recently involving
GUI development using the Gtk+ toolkit.
- Low level hardware interface, mainly involving specialized real-time
computers, but also including a small assortment of device
drivers for Linux, LynxOS, and other Unix type operating systems.
- Other useful skills include a smattering of Web design techniques,
such as basic image processing (Picture Publisher, Gimp) and the use
of basic HTML as required in maintaining this site.
