Buy and download Microsoft Office from $ 59!
Microsoft Office 2003 For Sales: I lately downloaded Open Office, the open supply totally free software package that mirrors Office 2007 (really, Office 2003). Way far better alternative than spending 200-300 on Workplace from MS. Only issue is, I need to have directions on how to permanently set the default “new” file sorts to match Microsoft Workplace (.doc, .xls, .ppt). Right up until I do this it looks all documents that I’ve produce in Open Office aren’t compatible with Microsoft Word.
(Other folks will not be ready to open the documents I send them unless of course I adjust this first)
Recommendations on how to proceed? There is an eBay seller proffering up a “for sale” version of Open Office with “the Secret” on how to do this, but I have a hunch it could be doable for free if a single know how

thnx in advance
In addition, prior .docs I had designed with Workplace 2007, I can not open them with Open Office. If I create a new doc, positive, I see I can save it in what ever format I need to have, but not the situation for already created files. I cant open them…

When you conserve the files, you can conserve them as whatever kind of file you want. The defaults really should be in preferences or alternatives.

Go to file. Then Save as…(Ctrl+Shift+S) open it . Then Save it as MicroSoft doc File.

First what you do is go to save as and then there will be two place one to type name of document and the other to save as another file type. Its set to openoffice by default so click it and scroll to where it says microsoft word 2000/xp/etc. click that and save so if you try to open with ms word it will work. For your word 2007 I suggest trying the latest version of open office which is 2.4 and have all updates installed. If that doesn’t work go to a computer with ms word 2003.
