Microsoft Office Standard 2003 Low cost: OS is XP professional… we just got personal computer that has workplace 2007 basic, but we need to have to set up microsoft access to function in a database on our network that was created with 2002 Access. Should we get Access 2003 or Access 2007? 2003 is less costly certainly, but a person mentioned it may well not operate with Office 2007… how can this be?

Solution by JPCGuy
Workplace applications are entirely independent. I have Workplace 2003 (every thing but Access) and Access 2000′s installed.

In any event, you are better off downloading SQL Server 2005 Express and using it, as its a True database app.

You really should obtain Access 2007. Access 2003 has been deprecated.

Access 2003 WILL perform with other Workplace 2007 applications, but not as nicely. Access 2007 performs a lot greater than Access 2003.

access 2003 WILL work with office 2007.
i’ve used access databases from access 2000 in access 2007 and its worked fine.
the only thing to keep in mind is that some of the features won’t translate over.
